Pepperjack Bacon Burger

Serves 4
The classic cheeseburger has met its match.
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef |
4 slices peppered bacon, cooked |
1/4 cup flour |
1/4 teaspoon sea salt |
2 cups whole milk |
2 tablespoons butter |
8 oz shredded Pepper Jack cheese |
Salt, to taste |
Pepper, to taste |
4 hamburger buns |
Directions:
- Bring a large saucepan to medium heat. Once pan is hot add butter and let melt. Reduce the heat to low, add the flour and sea salt, whisk until well incorporated and the mixture turns golden brown.
- Raise the heat to medium and add the milk, whisking constantly until a smooth, about 5 minutes. Add the shredded cheese and whisk until melted.
- Preheat grill to medium. Season ground beef with salt and pepper and form four patties. Grill the burgers, turning once, to desired doneness.
- Assemble the cooked burger on a hamburger bun and top with bacon. Spread warm cheese sauce over bacon and enjoy!
