Crispy Pan Fried Catfish





Serves 4
Restaurant quality made at home.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cornmeal |
4 catfish fillets |
1 teaspoon sea salt |
1/4 cup corn oil |
1/4 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne |
Directions:
- In a bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper and cayenne. Dip the catfish fillets in the flour mixture. Coat both sides evenly.
- Pour corn oil into a large skillet, turn to high heat. Once hot reduce heat to medium and arrange the fish fillets in the skillet. Cook for 3 minutes. Turn and cook the other side for an additional 3 minutes (Until golden brown)
- Remove the fried catfish from the skillet, place on serving plates.
