Homemade Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal





Serves 10
A few simple ingredients and you’re on your way to making this classic breakfast cereal at home!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup buttermilk |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
1 1/4 cups flour, (whole wheat) |
1/3 cup brown sugar |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
2/3 cup butter |
1 1/4 cups flour |
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 tablespoon honey |
2 teaspoon baking soda |
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- Cover inside of two baking sheets parchment paper.
- Combine flour, cinnamon, whole wheat flour and baking soda. Mix together evenly. Then add to same mixture honey, half of the sugar, half of the butter, brown sugar and vanilla. Blend together until mixture forms into pea size balls. Pour in buttermilk, blend until mixture forms dough balls.
- Sprinkle flour on counter top, pour out dough and break into two pieces. Flatten each piece of dough out to the thickness of a quarter.
- In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and remaining sugar. Stir together. In a separate bowl, melt remaining butter and brush entire dough, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Cut edges of dough to create a rectangle. Cut dough into 1/2 inch square pieces. Poke two sets of holes into squares with a fork.
- Place each square on baking sheets. Bake 9-13 minutes, top should become golden brown.
