Chicken and Onion Alfredo Pizza

Serves 1 pizza


Ingredients:

1 pizza crust
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
Salt, to taste
1 cup Alfredo sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup cooked chicken, diced or shredded
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven according to the pizza crust package directions.
  2. Pour the olive oil into a skillet, bring to medium heat. Once hot, add the onions and a pinch of salt. Cook and stir until the onions are caramelized and golden brown. Set aside.
  3. Spread the Alfredo sauce evenly over the pizza crust, leaving a small border around the edge.
  4. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the alfredo sauce. Arrange the caramelized onions on the mozzarella, followed by the cooked chicken. Add the remaining mozzarella over the chicken followed by the grated parmesan.
  5. Sprinkle the dried oregano over the cheeses. Then season with salt and pepper.
  6. Place the pizza on a pizza stone or large and place into the oven to bake for 12-15 minutes, until the crust is golden, and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve while hot.
