Honey Butter Rolls

Serves 12

Light, Fluffy, and Buttery Sweet.

Ingredients:

1 cup 2% milk
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
3 1/8 cup bread flour
For Honey Butter:
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons salted butter

Directions:

  1. Add the milk and butter to a microwave safe bowl. Place into the microwave and heat for 45 seconds.
  2. Pour the milk-butter mixture into a large mixing bowl. Add the yeast, honey, sugar, salt, and egg to the bowl Whisk together.
  3. Add bread flour. Knead the dough until slightly sticky.
  4. Coat a second large mixing bowl with cooking spray. Transfer the dough to the second bowl. Cover with a towel and let rise for at least 1 hour until dough has doubled in size.
  5. Flour a working surface. Roll dough into a long tube, then cut tube into 12 pieces. Roll the pieces into a ball.
  6. Place the dough balls on a large baking dish. Cover and let rise for another hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  8. Place the baking dish into the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  9. While rolls are baking, Stir together the salted butter and honey in a bowl. Set aside.
  10. Remove rolls from the oven. Spread the honey butter over the tops of the rolls.
  11. Separate the rolls. Distribute amongst the serving plates and enjoy!
