Simple Apple Crisp

Serves 4 |
A simply sweet treat you can enjoy throughout the day.
|4 cups sliced sweet apples, (braeburn, gala, honeycrisp or McIntosh)|
|1/2 cup flour|
|1/2 cup quick-cooking oats|
|3/4 cup light brown sugar|
|3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg|
|3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon|
|1/3 cup butter, softened|
|Ice cream, (for serving)|
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease the sides and bottom of an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray.
- Arrange apples in pan.
- In a medium bowl, stir together flour, quick-cooking oats, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and butter. Mix well then sprinkle over apples.
- Bake for 30 minutes. (apples should be tender when pierced with a fork and topping is golden brown)
- Serve warm with ice cream.
