Simple Apple Crisp

Serves 4

A simply sweet treat you can enjoy throughout the day.

Ingredients:

4 cups sliced sweet apples, (braeburn, gala, honeycrisp or McIntosh)
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup light brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup butter, softened
Ice cream, (for serving)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease the sides and bottom of an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray.
  2. Arrange apples in pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, quick-cooking oats, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and butter. Mix well then sprinkle over apples.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes. (apples should be tender when pierced with a fork and topping is golden brown)
  5. Serve warm with ice cream.
